*January 2013 Makeup Favorites*

I'm back again today to share my January favorites with you all. I'm going to try to do a favorites post every month this year, so we'll see how that goes. This post is very lip product heavy and I didn't intend for that to happen, I just cant help myself! If you've been following my blog for a while then you may recognize several of my favorites this month from previous blog posts. When that's the case, I'll just link you to that blog post for my full product review! So keep reading to find out what my favorites were this month!

This month my favorite base product has been the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. I've been absolutely loving the fuller coverage it provides. It makes my skin look flawless without looking like my face is caked with makeup. It really gives a natural look, while still evening out my skin tone and concealing all my flaws. I wear this in Rose Ivory but I find that it is just a tad too dark, though proper blending makes it virtually unnoticeable. After hearing so many rave reviews for this product, I'm so glad I've finally joined the party. Great foundation overall. This retails for $43 and can be found at Sephora.

Bobbi Brown's Corrector is one of my favorite concealers of all time. I suffer from extremely dark circles, no matter the amount of sleep that I get and this product really masks that for me. I wear shade Light Bisque and the peachy tone virtually corrects any darkness I have going on. It gives that well rested look, and for that reason it has become my holy grail concealing product. It's $23 and can be found wherever Bobbi Brown cosmetics are sold.

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo has really transformed the way I do my eyebrows. I used to use a brow pencil, which can be easily overdone and I found myself repurchasing it more often than I liked. Since switching to this brow duo, I found my eyebrow routine to be so simple and easy that I actually want to do it. This powder duo keeps my brows looking filled in and natural. I apply this with an angled liner brush, brush my brows through with a spooly and set it with some clear brow gel. It's really amazing, and I think this little compact will last me ages because you only need a tiny amount for each brow. For reference, I wear this in the Brunette shade. This duo retails for $22 and can be found at Sephora.

I cannot rave enough about the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed! This is my holy grail of blushes. It's my go-to for everyday because it provides such natural color to my cheeks. The color shows up on me as a nude-pink shade and I just love it. I really can't believe this is the first time I've mentioned it on this blog! I'm thinking I need to do a post on my Tarte blushes soon, with swatches, because I've collected quite a few now. This one is still my all time favorite though and I can't recommend it enough. Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes retail for $26 and can be found at Sephora and ULTA.

Ladies and gentlemen, I have found my holy grail mascara in the form of the original Armani Eyes to Kill. In the past, I generally stuck to using drugstore mascaras because I didn't really think shelling out $30 for a mascara could truly be worth it. Well, I was wrong. I can honestly say that this is what I've been looking for in a mascara for years now! It lengthens, defines, and volumizes my lashes while still separating them perfectly, something I find that other mascaras don't do for me. I'm really picky when it comes to mascara clumping up. I don't like my individual lashes to look like they have mascara on them, if that makes sense. It probably doesn't, but suffice it to say that Armani Eyes to Kill is everything I want in a mascara. I've reviewed it before on my blog here, so check out that post for more info!

MAC's Steppin' Out was my first ever Dazzleglass and to be honest, when I bought it I kinda threw it in my lip product drawer and forgot about it. That is, until this past month when I wanted to add a bit of glitter and shine to my lips for a date night out with my hubby. I really love the formula of this Dazzleglass because you can't feel the glitter on your lips. It's a pretty peachy pink shade with yellow gold glitter and I've found it looks great alone or on top of a lipstick. MAC Dazzleglass lip glosses retail for $19.50, which is a bit pricey in my opinion for lipgloss but it's nice to have for the right occasions.

Okay, so this month was the month of amazing drugstore releases. I seriously went crazy this month with all the new collections! I've already reviewed the new Maybelline Color Whispers and Color Sensational Vivids, so check out those posts for more details and swatches.

My favorite Maybelline Color Whisper lipstick this month has been Lust for Blush. It is a soft nude pink that is perfect for everyday. I love that I don't need a mirror to apply this, I can just grab it and go. The color is sheer but slightly buildable and definitely on the more moisturizing side.

The new Maybelline Vivids are easily my favorite new drugstore release this month, as they are just so bold and perfect for Spring/Summer. I've been loving Fuchsia Flash the most though, and it's what I reach for when I want bold color. These are exceptional lipsticks and rival high end lipstick formulas so I highly recommend checking them out!

Lastly, I've also fallen in love with the new L'Oréal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stains! I purchased nine of these... yes nine... and I plan to review and swatch them very soon on my blog, so stay tuned for that. Anyway, Rose On and On has been the nicest rosy pink shade for days when I want a glossy wet look with the staying power of a stain. These truly are wonderful lip products and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you soon!

So there you have it! A January favorites post with far too many lip products! What can I say though, I'm a lip product junkie. Let me know in the comments below what you've been loving lately!

XOXO, Taylar
