My Instalife #1: Makeup Organization, Latest Hauls & More!

So yesterday turned out to be very productive for me in terms of unpacking and organizing my makeup collection. Yes, I'm unpacking my cosmetics before I've fully unpacked my kitchen. ;)

Seriously though, I've been making a lot of progress and am happier with my new setup than I've ever been in the past. I just got a new vanity and acrylic storage, plus I have vanity lighting on its way to me! Finally I feel like everything has a place and I'm truly proud of my setup. So today I thought I'd share a bit of my progress in a potentially new segment on this blog titled "My Instalife". What better way to show you what I've been doing than through my habitual Instagram usage?! If you like what you see here and want to get more frequent updates from me (most posts are beauty related) you can follow me at: TaylarRawr

I've decided to invest in a few new items from Shiseido for my skincare routine. Prevention is key, right?

I got a bit crafty yesterday & repurposed several used B&BW candles. This one now holds my lip balm/stain/gloss pencils. Makeup as decor? Heck yes!

NARS And God Created The Woman Set: swatches w/o primer. This Sephora exclusive, limited edition set is high quality & great for wearable day to night looks. The included primer is a fave too! Should I do a review?

My new acrylic drawer set. I couldn't be happier with it! So functional & displays everything quite attractively too. I will be doing a post in the future all about my new setup with details & photos, so stay tuned!

I've been seeing a few posts on IG showing products with MAC's special packaging from past collections & thought it looked fun. I own a couple things from a few different releases, shown above. MAC has some of the best limited edition packaging for their big collections. Love it!

Two of my most favorite makeup items: Creme Rouge blush in Evening Rose & lipstick in Cherry from the Estée Lauder Mad Men collection from Spring 2012. These products embody the 60's & make me feel so glamorous. I absolutely love Mad Men & 60's makeup & fashion in general, so these won me over instantly.

The top photo is the same as the previous photo with a different effect (taken by me). The bottom photo is the promo image from the Estée Lauder Mad Men collection for Spring 2013. Is that not the most gorgeous packaging you've ever seen?! *swoon* I can't wait until this releases (supposedly next month), & I'm thrilled about the Mad Men season premiere in April! Bottom photo credit to OK! Magazine.

So what do you guys think of these types of posts? I hope you found this somewhat enjoyable! I would love your feedback, so please let me know in the comments section below what sort of posts you'd like to see on this blog in the future!

XOXO, Taylar

  1. I have to admit I felt the same when I was unpacking, I had 2 back packs and 2 huge train cases when I moved of makeup and was more excited about restocking my alex draws and setting up my new table than unpacking the rest of the house. I wouldn't even let the removalists take my makeup, I took that myself in my car and the boys moved my furniture
